BOAT PERMITS

** As of 1/08, the Mexican Government has terminated the requirement for Boat Permits.

* Must specify date on weekly and monthly licenses. Annual boat permits and fishing licenses must be dated within the month of issue.

PREPAID FMT'S (VISITOR CARDS)

We have these available for members only. There will be short times the office will not have them available because the process requires that we submit a report and account for each and every numbered FMT for approval before Mexican Immigration will release another batch. Please allow two to three weeks for processing. The price is $23 plus a handling fee.

FMT's AT TECATE: it is easier to park on the U.S. side, walk across to Immigration in the building on your right and use the bank across the street. Again, Always ask for the maximum of 180 days.

FMT's AT TIJUANA: Stay in the far right lane under the sign “For Declaration Only”, park and walk to the Immigration office in the long building to the right. Obtain your FMT form there, fill it out and go to the nearby bank to pay for it. Then return to the Immigration office to have it validated. Always ask for the maximum of 180 days.

SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS

The name of the Ministry of Fisheries (Pesca) has been changed to the Department of Environment, Natural Resources and Fisheries.

1. A Fishing License: is required for any individual, regardless of age, who wishes to fish in fresh or salt water in Mexico. This rule applies to all people fishing out of boats or fishing underwater while skin diving. A Fishing License is not needed when fishing from land.

2. A Boat Permit:** As of 1/08, the Mexican Government has terminated the requirement for Boat Permits.

3. All passengers, regardless of age, aboard a boat in Mexican waters that is engaged in fishing must have a Mexican Fishing License in their possession, regardless if they are fishing or not.

4. A copy of the current registration must be submitted with your application for a permit.

5. All Fishing Licenses are Personal and Non-transferable. Any alteration, mutilation or transfer of these documents will render them void and may result in fines or temporary seizure of your boat. HANDLE THEM WITH CARE!
